We are entering the seasonal transition so it must be fig time. My tree is
getting 8 to 12 figs a day. For those of you fig lovers who live close by (Silver Spring, MD),
please contact me to pick some up. I made a Fig and Almond Cake for
Rosh Hashanah.
Speaking of cooking, I will be teaching an Ayurvedic Cooking Class
for Autumn through a friend’s platform. It will be on Zoom
Sunday, September 19th from 4 to 6 pm. The
cost is $36. Here is the link to register, and feel free to contact me with
any additional questions. Once you sign up, you will receive the shopping list,
recipes and then other handouts.
Later this fall, I will be teaching two Ayurvedic Classes on another yoga
friend’s Zoom platform (Maria Hamburger): Here are the dates and Topics. I will
send sign up details later in the month: Staying in Balance with
Ayurveda on Sunday, October 24th from 1 to 3 pm and Ayurveda and Digestive Fire
on Sunday, November 14th from 1 to 3 pm.
If you are looking for yoga classes, here is what I am teaching this fall,
at least through the end of October:
I teach 2 classes a week at Circle Yoga. For this session
they are both on Zoom only.
Monday morning from 9 to 10 is Level 1.
Thursday from 11 am to 12 noon is Super Gentle. In this class we start
sitting in a chair, it is good for folks who have difficulty sitting on their
mat on the floor. We move to standing poses and end either back in the chair or
lying down on the yoga mat.
I
am teaching 2 classes for the Holiday Park Senior Center: one is
virtual and one is in person with masks. The Center is in Wheaton at 3950
Ferrara Drive.
There is a
small fee. Both classes go from 9 to 9:50 am. The in person class is on
Friday, and the virtual class is Tuesday. For information about registering go
to HolidayParkSeniors@outlook.com.
You can sign up for one or both.
Finally, if
you would like a private session either in Ayurveda for diet and lifestyle or in
Yoga to help with any physical issues or to develop a good routine for yourself,
please let me know. I teach them either on Zoom for anyone or, if you prefer,
in person for those who are fully vaccinated.
Stay
healthy in the transition from Pitta time to Vata time! Some tips to come later
in the month.
