Here is a simple and delicious recipe for the winter season: sautéed apple
and pear (although you can use one or the other). Have it as a snack between
meals, or for Kaphas it can be your breakfast.
Cut 1 apple and 1/2 pear into thin slices. Put 1/2 to 1 Tablespoon of ghee
(more for Vata and the lesser amount for Kapha) in a small fry pan. Heat on low
and add a pinch of salt and the fruit. Stir to coat the fruit, and then cover
and cook for about 5 minutes. Uncover and add 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon,
cover and cook for 8 to 12 minutes more until the fruit is soft. Put in a bowl
and enjoy. I made this today and below are pictures of the sauté in 3
different stages, with the last in my handmade bowl ready to eat! Try it and enjoy!
